Grandmothers for Mars

Pfft, what is with my brain right now?! XDDD

The idea came about some time after the Hetalia Halloween 2011 Event. (Start your journey here.) While just doing random things, I suddenly thought of the cover of Tori Amos' album Boys for Pele (I might've been listening to her song 'Marianne' during the time, which is from said album) . . . and then I pictured Grandmother Red!Lovino. With his shotgun. Then this happened. XD

I have to admit, though, I didn't do all of this. I was having issues with copying Tori's pose on the Boys album (anatomy has been one of my adversaries since forever ), and I didn't know how to draw rocking chairs. This is where my little sister comes in. She drew the base for the floor, the body base (Lovino in Tori's pose), the rifle and the rocking chair; I drew over them and then did the rest. XD Thank you, little sister~!

On the other details: Since the Tomato Gang (Spain, Romano, Belgium and Netherlands - or Antonio, Lovino, Isabelle and Lars in my headcanon) were doing Little Red Riding Hood in the Hetaween event, the background is heavily LRRH-inspired while still taking inspiration from the background of the Boys for Pele image. Unfortunately we (my sister and I) didn't draw in Lovino's shotgun and instead stuck to the rifle Tori had on her lap. The wolf on the left is a replacement for the bird/game on the actual cover, because Grandmother Red!Lovi can kick serious butt. XD (No, this image does NOT encourage wolf-hunting, please understand that.) Like the shack, Grandmother Red's house is made of wood (I would've liked it to be a log cabin or something, but I can't seem to do it x__x), and the snake in the image has, for some reason, been replaced with a hat. Maybe it's Antonio's? XD;; (No, I don't ship Spamano, but yeah.)

As for the title . . . Well. The albums Boys for Pele, according to Tori, was named after the Hawaiian volcano goddess Pele. I wanted to make a callback to that, but with a Lovino-y twist. Since Lovino is supposed to represent the lower part of Italy, where Rome is, I took from the Ancient Roman mythologies and ta-da! Grandmothers for Mars. (I chose Mars because Granmother Red!Lovi is epic.)

Pfft, now I can imagine Lovino recording an album or something. XD Will they have cryptic lyrics, like Tori's albums have, or will they all be angry ramblings? XDDD You decide!
